Team Collaboration
Prioritisation Matrices
Get an overview of different issues, tasks and activities within your team and how to prioritise them effectively. For example, find tasks that have a significant impact and can be done with little effort and earn you some quick wins. Matrices are a good and simple tool to compare two criteria against each other and identify where tasks can be placed in the quadrants.
Instructions
- Use the pre-defined prioritisation matrices (impact vs. effort, importance vs. urgency), or define your own matrix by choosing two criteria relevant to your team.
- Make a list of all the tasks/issues that need to be prioritised in your team and allocate them in the matrix. Give team members enough time for brainstorming and sharing.
- Draw conclusions: discuss tasks and issues in the team and look at the distribution (does everyone have the same opinion, or do they differ a lot?). Decide which tasks should be prioritised, paused, stopped.
- Define responsibilities and next steps regarding the pursuit of the tasks.
