Empathy Map

The Empathy Map helps you engage and empathise with your team by doing a comprehensive self-reflection, using all your senses. It enables everyone to identify their needs and discrepancies between what they feel/think and what they do/say. It encourages a safe team discussion to learn about and reflect on their own and their colleagues’ perspectives.


  1. The team looks at the empathy map and reflects on the topic of each box.
  2. Every team member brainstorms silently and jots down some ideas for each box on a post-it.
  3. Share and discuss the different views within the team. What do people have in common, where do they differ?
